So blessed!
While sitting in church yesterday I got carried away with my thoughts. I was looking around at the amazing ward that we get to go to church with every Sunday. I got thinking about just how lucky I am! I've already been given the greatest Christmas gift a girl could ask for, my sweetheart, Jose. I am so lucky to have this amazing man in my life! As I looked around, I saw a sweet man in our ward who is spending his first Christmas without his sweetheart. A couple who is holding onto every last second they get to spend together. And many people going through divorces, I thought of my best friend, Elsa, who doesn't get to be with her husband because he's away at work. There are so many people who whatever their circumstances, don't get to be with their loved one. I realized just how lucky I am that I do! So this Christmas I am going to enjoy every last second I get to be with Jose. I want to make memories that we will look back on and laugh with each other. It's not about the presents, even though I love giving presents! It's all about spending time with those you love! So Merry Christmas everybody! I hope you get to spend this holiday season with those you love most!

Busy busy!
Life sure does get busy this time of year! I can't believe we just celebrated our second thanksgiving together! We had a great day! We got to sleep in, then we had thanksgiving around lunch time with my family. After eating all that yummy food we headed off to see Red Dawn. It was pretty good minus the last 10 minutes. Then we went to Walmart to check out their Black Friday sales, we got some great movies for great prices! The next day we headed down to Orem for the weekend. But, first we stopped at temple square to see the lights. It was weird being there without any snow, but we kind of enjoyed it because we weren't freezing the entire time. Saturday we spent with Jose's family playing soccer, going to the movies, and having a BBQ. On Sunday Jose had the great opportunity of giving his little brother the priesthood, he did a great job! Yesterday we put up our Christmas tree and now all we need is some presents to put under it!

Anniversary
So I haven't blogged in a few days because my sweetie took me away for our anniversary. He sure did spoil me and I had a blast with him! Friday afternoon we headed down to Salt Lake. We checked into our hotel, the Little America, which we were so surprised by how nice it was! We loved it! Then we went to dinner and a movie. Great start to an amazing weekend! Saturday we woke up and headed to the temple. It was so special being in the temple that we got married in a year ago! I can't believe it's already been a year! After the temple we went shopping. We discovered that most of the stores at City Creek are pretty expensive so lets just say we didn't buy much! Then we headed back to our hotel to get ready for the evening. We went to Applebees for dinner then went to the Jazz game, it was a blast and we had some pretty amazing seats! Then yesterday we got to go spend some time with his family which was great because we haven't seen them in awhile. So that was our exciting weekend. So for today I am grateful for my sweet husband! He is so good to me and I absolutely love being married to him! He is constantly making me smile! He never stops! He always knows what to say when I'm having a bad day! He is my best friend and he puts up with so much for me! I am so blessed to have him in my life! I am so glad we had the chance to celebrate this special day together! Thank you sweet heart for everything that you do for me and for the amazing weekend! I love you!

Music
I love music so much! Me and my sweetheart have been saying it's our "anniversary week" because Monday is our anniversary so we've turned it into a week long celebration! I've loved every second of it. But what I'm getting at is that every day this week he has dedicated a song to me. I know isn't he sweet?!?! I think music is wonderful! It can strengthen us when we're feeling down. It can describe exactly how we feel when we can't find the words. I made this picture and it's the lyrics to Rascal Flatts Bless the Broken Road which was the song we danced to at our wedding. This song describes my feelings for my amazing husband so perfectly!

Faith
So I will admit I was not happy about the results of last nights elections. But I absolutely love this gospel. The church came out with a statement congratulating President Obama for his win in the election. Here is a link to what they said if you haven't seen it church statement. Then I read on my amazing friend Jess's blog a quote that she put up. It was pretty great! to summarize it, it just said that we need to be positive and not criticize this great nation that we live in, and that we need to be positive. I just feel like at a time like this we all need to have faith the church has faith and we need to follow it's example right now. I'm grateful for the great example that the church sets and I hope that I can set a good example for the church. So I'm going to try really hard to not say anything negative about the situation and have faith!

Fall
Today I am grateful for the amazing fall weather we have been having lately! I know it's suppose to end this week so I'm enjoying it while it lasts! I wore flip flops today! I feel like usually we go straight from summer to winter so the last few weeks of warmer weather have been great and I've loved every minute of it!

Kids
I absolutely love children! I am so glad I got into a profession where I am surrounded by them all day! They make life fun! I love the things that they say! The kids in my class are always making me laugh! Yesterday I substituted in primary which was a blast! Then there is my adorable niece and nephews! They can always bring a smile to my face! I cant wait for the day when I have children of my own!

Sundays
Today I am so grateful for Sundays and the opportunity to go to church every week. We are so lucky to live so close to churches so we can go learn and come closer to our Savior. We are so blessed to have the sacrament, so we can renew our baptismal covenants with our Heavenly Father!

Couple friends
In the last week we got to hang out with 3 awesome couples. On Friday we hung out with Emily and Mike which was lots of fun. Saturday Jose got to spend the afternoon hanging out with his best friend Parker and his wife Holly while I was at work then Sunday they came back over and we had breakfast with them and spent a few hours talking and laughing. Then last night Jessica and Josh came over and we played some games. I'm grateful that we have such great couple friends we can spend our weekends with!

Fridays!
I am so grateful for Fridays! They are my day off from the school, so that might sound silly since just yesterday I said how much I love my job, which I real do! It's just so nice to have Fridays off. I get so much accomplished it's a great way to start off the weekend! Then once four hits I get my husband home and I get to spend the rest of the weekend with him! I love it! Yay for Fridays!

November
As some of you might know I like to blog every day in November about something that I am grateful for, so we'll see how it goes this year. Today I am grateful for my job. I am so lucky to work at such a great place! I absolutely love it! I can't believe how fast the work day goes there. I start the day and before I know it it's already over. I wake up on Monday and blink and the week is over. I am so grateful that I pushed through those 4 years of school so I could be where I am at today. But I never would've been able to make it through college without my sweetie by my side cheering me on, he's the best!

Tender Mercies
Isn't it amazing how the Lord knows what we need when we need it?!?! I love it!!! Last week was such an amazing week!!! It started off rough. I was having a hard time with some students at school and getting extremely discouraged. I was on the verge of tears as my 4th graders were leaving the computer lab, but then came in my adorable kindergartners. These kids are just the cutest things EVER!!! One little girl walks in, looks at me and says "You're cute!" and then her friend behind her looks at me and says the same thing. I know those were just 2 little words from 2 little girls but that made me suck up those tears and go on with my day! That to me was a tender mercy from my Heavenly Father, telling me, don't give up! Then I got to come home to my sweet husband who always knows what to say to make me feel better! He is the best! He puts up with a lot from me but he is just oh so good to me!
The next day as I'm getting out of my car and walking into school the first student I see says "Hi Mrs. Matos! You look really pretty today!" Talk about starting off the day great! That day finished off amazing too! We had a huge blessing come our way! A long story short, there were some things stopping me from getting my diploma and that night everything got taken care of so any day now I should be getting it in the mail! I can't wait!
On Friday we got to go to my cousin Brian's wedding in the Salt Lake Temple! I love going to weddings there because that means we get to go back to the place where we were sealed! It was a beautiful ceremony! Those always make me so happy! I love weddings!
So I went from starting off my week ready to just give up and by the end the Lord had sent me so many blessing that I realized just how silly I was being! I have so much to be grateful for and I am just so glad that my Heavenly Father knows me so well and knows how to help me when I'm feeling down. I am so blessed!

Just some thoughts
Yesterday while Jose was at school my mom's visiting teachers came. I love these sweet ladies!!! They both were my young women leaders and so I joined my mom and talked to them for a while. We got talking about how fragile life is and since then my mind has gotten away. I am so lucky to have found such an amazing man who makes me so happy and I feel like I take life with him for granted every single day. He is my best friend, he is always there for me no matter what, and he's a great husband! I'm just feeling so overwhelmed right now with how much I love and appreciate him! There is a song that I absolutely love that says my feelings exactly. It's called Forever and Always by Parachute. This is what the course says:
I want you forever, forever and always
Through the good and the bad and the ugly
We'll grow old together, and always remember
Whether happy or sad or whatever
We'll still love each other, forever and always
Forever and always, forever and always
and here is the song:
My point that I'm getting at is that we never know what's going to happen in life. I want to make sure that every chance I have to make a happy memory with my sweetheart I take it and enjoy every moment I get to spend with him.

It's been awhile
So as I said in the title, it's been awhile since I posted anything. So in the time since my last post a lot has happened. We got all moved in to my parents house, they've been so great and so helpful in so many ways. We both have had lots of job interviews and I got offered a job at Providence Elementary as a computer lab teacher. It's so weird that I'm going to be teaching at the school that I went to as a child. Jose has been so supportive and great he's been down to my classroom with me lots in the last week helping me get it all decorated and ready to go. On my birthday I got my keys to my room so as a present Jose took me and we bought stuff to decorate my room. It was lots of fun! For my birthday he made me an awesome birthday video with pictures of me growing up and pictures of us together. I loved it! It was the best birthday ever! Then it was Jose's birthday. We went down to Orem to spend the weekend with his family. It was lots of fun and I loved that neither of us had to work on our birthdays. I love getting to spend the entire day with him! We hung out with his mom and little brother and sister most of the day and then that night some friends came over and we all had a party for him with Mexican hot dogs and cake and ice cream. It was a pretty fun day! The next day we spent making his best friend, Parker's, wedding video. We really enjoyed making it but it took most of the day to make. Saturday was Parker's wedding reception. We went for most of it, it was gorgeous, and lots of fun. Sunday we went to church with Jose's family and had dinner with them then headed back up to Logan. It was a great weekend! Now we are just getting ready for school to start tomorrow for me, and Jose starts school on Monday. We're both pretty excited, but kind of nervous. So now we start the next big adventure in our lives!
Outside of the school district office the day I got offered my job!

I am the luckiest girl in the world!!!!
I have such a great husband and I am so lucky to have him!!! Monday evening while packing up our apartment I got a phone call that my grandparents had been in an accudent. It freaked me out pretty bad and he was there for me for the rest of the day while playing the waiting game to find out what was happening. Well Tuesday afternoon my parents decided I needed to come up to Logan to help with my grandparents. So Jose being the amazing husband he is told me not to worry about the packing and go. So I dropped everything and left him to do all the packing. He has been so sweet and so supportive!!! I hate being away from him, but my parents and i are headed back down tomorrow when they're off work to move us up here. I can't believe it's really happening! But I'm excited to start something new with my sweetheart! Thanks Jose for everything you do for me! I am the luckiest girl in the world to be able to call you mine!!!

The Dark Knight Rises=Best Movie Ever!!!!
This week was lots of fun, first on Tuesday we went to Jose's best friend, Parker's wedding. Parker and Holly got sealed in the Draper Temple. It was so fun going to a new temple we haven't been to. It is such a pretty temple!!! I love going to sealings with Jose and hearing those promises that we made each other 8 months ago. It's a great refresher and always brings us closer together.
Outside the temple
Then Wednesday we went up to Logan where we both had job interviews, we're really hoping we get these ones so we will see.
Now here is my favorite part of the week. 4 years ago when I moved to Orem the very first movie I saw down here was the Dark Knight. On Thursday we went to what will probably be the last movie we go to down here, The Dark Knight Rises. I am obsessed with Batman! I love it! Jose and I have been planning on going to the midnight premier of the final movie of the trilogy since we saw the very first teaser trailer at Harry Potter last July. I need to add that when Jose and I started dating he HATED Batman, or any other super hero movie. I have now brought him to my side, he was just as excited to see Batman as I was!!! So Thursday at 1 I picked Jose up from work after running some errands and picking up our friend Ryan we were in line at 2:30pm to see the midnight showing. Ya call us crazy, but we have fun! It was such a good movie! I can't even put into words how good it was. We didn't get to sleep until about 4 in the morning Friday so we were pretty lazy all day yesterday. It sure has been a fun week. Now we have lots of packing and cleaning to do to get ready for the moving truck next Friday, YAY!!!
Me and my sweetie waiting for the movie!!!
In the theater waiting for the movie to start, Derek looks kind of creepy haha
Always pulling faces!!
I find my self always hanging out with a bunch of boys. What is with this?!?!

New Adventure
One of the hardest parts of graduating is finding a job. I love the movie Post Grad and I feel just like the girl on that movie! She just graduated college and can't find a job and it just shows what she is going through while trying to figure out what to do with life. I've never been so discouraged before in my life, but Jose has made it so much easier for me. He was there for me for every rejection email and phone calls. He is the absolute best and I love him with all of my heart! I don't know how I would have made it through the last few months without him! It's been an emotional time but it has only brought us closer to one another. So after feeling so lost and confused on what to do with life we finally came to a decision. We read both of our patriarchal blessings, got a blessing from the bishop, said lots of prayers, and spent 5 hours in the temple. After everything we finally had an answer. We are moving to Logan! I can't believe it's real! But we are really doing it! I told my boss yesterday and he will be telling his tomorrow. I'm excited to start this new adventure with my sweet husband! Everything is just falling into place! We both have job interviews on Friday that we are going up for so we're hoping it goes well!!! I'm sad to be leaving Orem, but know this where we are suppose to be.

Walk in the canyon
We went up for a walk up the canyon with Jose's Grandma, his aunt and her husband, and his little sister. We went to a park I hadn't been to before. It was so pretty up there! I loved it! We got some good pictures while up there. Here's some of them.

Homemade Pizza
On Monday we tried making homemade pizza with Jose's little brother and sister. It actually turned out pretty good besides the fact that the bottom was covered in flour! Here is some pictures from our adventure.
Rolling out the dough
So excited for our pizza!!!
Putting the dough on the cookie sheet. We didn't have a circle pan so we had to use a square cookie sheet. It's called working with what you got, it's a newly wed thing. :)
Putting the toppings on.
Finished product.
Cheese!
YUM!!!

Happy Fathers Day
I'm bummed!!! Today as everyone knows is Fathers Day, unfortunately, I don't get to see my dad. We were going to go up to Brigham yesterday for a family party, but Jose got sick this weekend :( Not sure what's wrong with him, but he's been sick all weekend. Hopefully he gets feeling better soon. Any how, I am such a lucky girl to have such a great dad! Growing up he was always so supportive of us kids and was always at everything important to us. One of my favorites was in middle school, donuts with dads. SO fun! So, thank you to my awesome dad for everything he has and does do every day for us kids! We are so blessed to have him in our lives! I love you dad and I'm sorry I can't be there with you today!

Soccer!!!
One of the fun things about being married is sharing your interests with the one you love most. I have always had a love for soccer, but Jose has showed me a completely different side of soccer. I love going to Real Salt Lake games and watching soccer games on TV with him. One of our favorite video games is Fifa, which is a soccer game. He always kicks my butt at it, but I still enjoy playing with him. Yesterday we started playing on a co-ed soccer league for the summer with my good friend McKenna and her husband. It was tons of fun! We have a soccer game every Saturday morning. It's a great way to get us out and exercising doing something we love with a great group of people! I'm so excited to keep going the rest of the summer! Thanks Jose for sharing your love of soccer with me!

Gratitude
I've decided to try something new. I'm terrible about writing in journals so I'm going to try and blog more to make up for that. Along with writing about me and Jose I'm going to be more grateful for the things I have in my life. Last night I couldn't sleep, I was laying there in Jose's arms and thinking to myself how grateful I am to have him. He is such a great husband and he makes me so happy each and every day! I'm grateful for all of his hard work and dedication. He really is the best!
On to other things, I graduated a few weeks ago. Now it's all of the fun of trying to find a job. It's definitely hard, but I'm not going to give up! and I have the greatest support at home cheering me on! If it weren't for Jose I never would've been able to graduate college. He has been the best support the entire time! So for now, we're both just working and loving the married life!

Happy Mother's Day
Happy Mother's Day to my amazing mom and super sweet mother-in-law.
My mom is one of the greatest ladies I know! I am so lucky to have her! She puts up with so much from me, but she still loves me. I just hope she knows how much I love and appreciate her! I know I would not be where I am today if it weren't for her! So thank you mom for everything you have ever done for me! I am so blessed to have you in my life! I'm glad I got to see you today and spend the afternoon with you!
The other important mother in my life is my mother-in-law. Thanks to her I have the most amazing husband a girl could ever ask for! She sure did raise a good son! I know he wouldn't be the man he is today if it weren't for her. She has blessed our lives so much and I am so grateful for all that she does for us too!
These two women have taught me so much! They are such great examples to me and I look up to both of them so much! I love you both!

Holidays 2011
Jose and I spent our first Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years together. It's been a wonderful time of year and I've had tons of fun spending it with Jose. We got to spend a lot of time together this break and it's been absolutely fantastic! We found our most favorite TV show, How I Met Your Mother. It's so funny and we've watched so many episodes the last 3 weeks. It's been a great break away from school!!! But it's time to get back to real life. Monday is a big day in our home, Jose is starting a new job and I start student teaching. He has
been so great, he's done so much to support me through school and I really appreciate all of his love and support. He's the best!
